So, I apologize for not posting much recently, I have tendonitis in my right wrist which makes it pretty difficult to type etc. And so much has happened that ‚ I wanted to write about but time just keeps passing and things keep happening and I am getting more and more behind. I started scrapbooking. I don’t think I’m great at it or anything, but I have gotten completely sucked into it. Kate has started doing it too so when we get together we “Rook & Book.” We play Rook with the guys until they get tired and then we stay up half the night (ok, all night!) scrapbooking. And the kids started school last Thursday. And now my hand is starting to smart so I’m gonna wrap this up.

I am so excited that Benji won last night in “So You Think You Can Dance.” Heidi and Travis were equally as good, but Benji reminded me of myself when i was younger and I danced. Performance was everything. If you could confince the audience that you were having fun they would be entertained and I really think that Benji had the same attitude. it also made me want to start dancing with my wife as we age. I think that it would be fun. It also reminded me of Stricktly Ballroom, which i recomend for those who like dance movies. ‚
OK, I’ll blog more about this past week later–got plently of blogworthy material! But for now, I just had to write about Elise. She is starting Kindergarten this Thursday. Tuesday evening is “Meet the teacher night.” There is a lot of paprework I had to fill out to take on Tuesday for both Jacob and Elise’s teachers, mostly tell me about your kid kinda stuff. But one of the questions was what name do you want me to call your child by (and then teach her to spell and write and basically label her for the rest of her youth at least)? And instead of just writing Elise, since she was right beside me when I was filling out the papers I asked her what she would like to be called. She said that she would like to be called by her nickname (which she claims as a nickname even though she has NEVER gone by it) and then she told me how she wanted it spelled and everything! So, starting Thursday we will have an Elly. (Which ironically is what I wanted to call her all along–it’s part of why I named her Elise in the first place, but now, it feels like a BIG change.) Luckily, she has told us that we can still call her Elise if we want.
I just spent the last like 3 hours playing Bejeweled 2 and I got over 600,000 points and was on something like level 29 when ‚ I finally got no more moves, but…it didn’t save my badges earned or whatever!!! So it is as though it never happened!!! Man! I’m going back to Spider Solitaire! What a let-down!
So, while Jacob was at Grandma-Camp mid-late July, in an effort to entertain the children left at home I let them each pick out a temporary tatto to put on. Cameron chose a blue bulldog and put in on his forearm–cute! Elise chose a pink unicorn pegasus and put it on her calf. And I put a strawberry with a happy face on Elena’s backside–teehee. Then, I put a phoenix on my ankle. The kid’s tattoos came off as expected in about a week. Mine however is STILL on!!! I’ve showered over and over and even shaved over it, and still, it looks like this:
