So, I’m walking out of Wal-Mart at 2 in the morning–who knows why?! and I swear it was so freakin cold that it was just white outside! And ok, so my van thermometer said it was 45 but…wow! What happened to my Fall? On the way home the radio was playing Come Together by the Beatles which made me think of my cousin Laura and a silly home video we once made to that song. It’s been quite a while now since I’ve seen Laura and I kinda miss her. I wonder if she’ll be coming home for any holidays…probably not…she’s probably going to Panama or something instead. Ok, maybe I’ll see her at Christmas, she does often come back then. After Come Together that station went into commercials so ‚ I switched to another and got to hear the last half of Unbelievable by…I am wanting to say EMF. (Just started speculating on what those letters stood for, but I don’t want to know so, moving on!) It’s about 2:20 now and I’m feeling pretty awake still. I hope I’m not needed for much in the morning. I know I need to remember the kids’ costumes for their “Fall Parties” at school, and I don’t think they have to take anything else… I bought Josh a Halloween costume today. I hope it fits him. It was on sale. I love sales. I am a sucker for a sale. I had a RIDICULOUS time trying to get out of Wal-Mart tonight without spending my mortgage payment! When money’s tight it is SOOO hard to pass up a good deal because even if it means you need to spend money (and maybe you REALLY shouldn’t be at that time) it also means that you save hugely in the long run. I always get into trouble here with Josh. He makes a good point that if it is not something immediately neccessary then chances are it’ll go on sale again when we have more money to spend or something similar will be available and it’s not like we’re gonna run out of cereal and starve or wear through all of our socks(though the kids are sure trying!!!) ‚ etc and go naked. So yeah, socks have been a little pet peave of mine lately. I know that I bought the kids–ALL of them–socks this Summer, and of course they already had some, but it seems like every frickin day at least one of them is waking me up whining about not having any socks to wear! And I am finding randon singular socks all over the house in the oddest of places! And never in pairs! So, yes, when I saw the 3packs of boys dress socks and the 6packs of boys ankle sport socks on sale tonight for $1 I bought several! Which, in the long run really doesn’t help me out because then there are just more randon socks foating around out there and more singular socks ending up in the bottom of my clean laundry basket with no mate and nowhere to go. I try to do sock weddings at least once a week. Often, it is just a lost cause, but here I am hanging on to every sock the kids have ever worn even if I haven’t seen a match for it in three years because I just know that I’ll throw it out and then the other will magically appear and I will hate myself for wasting socks–ESPECIALLY if they’re cute ones! Alright, I could probably just go on and on but this is probably crazy boring and already really long so I’ll just sign off for now.
