It’s a CONTEST!!!

I’m trying to figure out how to do pictures again, and its taking some time, so I apologize. (and when I say I’m trying–that translates into I’m making Chris figure it out and then just tell me what to do. And since he has to squeeze it in between school, work, and his own family etc, it is possible that it will still be a while.) So, I will try to just keep posting as usual to keep my loyal readers informed and…I like to think, entertained. (If you do not find me entertaining feel free NOT to say so. It’ll just make me sad, and while “I may look like a big girl, I have quite a thin skin really.” Actually, that line is more or less from a movie and I have no idea how thin my skin is–I think I can take quite a lot. But still, don’t tell me if I’m boring you here. So, let’s have a little contest shall we? The first person to post with the correct title of the movie that the line ‚ I used earlier is from will get a prize!

I don’t know what I’m doing

New address

So, apparently we are going to have a new web address. Instead of www.joshandbecca.thrapfamily.com, we are now going to be just www.thrapfamily.com

Oh Happy Wednesday!

The facts that I really have nothing planned for today, and that Josh is in Nebraska on business and as soon as he gets home he has to get ready and leave for Cub Scouts, and that Elena is teething, are not getting me down today! Why? What’s so special about today? Well I’ll tell you. It is Wednesday–the hardest day of the week to spell. And while there’s nothing else so inately wonderful about Wednesdays, this particular Wednesday is the last day before Kate and Lisa come over to scrapbook with me! And I have Top Model to watch tonight when Josh comes home–and he should be home early enough to put the kids to bed. So my weekend basically starts tomorrow! I’m going to try all kinds of crafty new techniques on my pages. So today I’m going to go through my pictures and try to decide what pages I should work on this when they get here. Also, Thursday night I’m having a Close to My Heart party (which is like scrapbooking stuff: papers, stickers, stamps, cards, albums etc.) So that’ll be fun too.

Oh Snapp!

Ok, so I definately need to be dieting and exercising–and I’m not saying I won’t, but I LOVE food. I just want to give quick props to a great snack: Snapp Cream Cheese and Mild Jalepeno Poppers. (I apologize for the lack of authenticity in the name, I can’t type a tilde above the “n” but I know it should be there.) Lovin’ these right now. I had my very first jalepeno (see above) popper on my “honeymoon” dinner in Iowa City–or is it in Coralville? I digress. And I generally like them, but I can not handle eating the WHOLE (or whole half) of the jalepeno (see above). These snacks rock because you get all the feeling of eating a popper with less meaty jalepeno (see above). Which, ok, is not good if you just love the hot pepper, but, it still has some kick.

Snapp also makes other tasty appetizer-type snacks like Mozzarella Sticks and some kind of breaded mushroom and potato balls etc. Check ‘em out in your grocer’s freezer section. (They cost more at some stores than others, but I’m not naming any names here!) <==This is me incognito. Oh no! I’ve just drawn attention! Drat!:rolleye:

Scrapping Pages

Ok, so for those of you who don’t know, I have recently become slightly obsessed with Scrapbooking! Stickers, fun papers, colored pens…really, it was inevitable! I have not been able to do many pages in the last couple weeks and Kate has been taunting me on her blog (link at right). So this post is a response. This morning I have completed 5 FIVE pages, exqueeze me? YES! You heard right Kate Wheeler! Suck on that! (I’m very sorry. Really. I apologize. That was offsides. I got caught up in the moment.) And…it’s still early! I can make countless more! And I know it’s about quality, not quantity, but I’m really fairly pleased with the ones I’ve done. They are about as good as I think they could be given what I was working with.

Excuses?

Ok, I know why my parents aren’t commenting because they are here visiting me, but what is everyone else’s excuse? Where’d e’rybody git off to? Kate! I need validation.

I’ve Gained A Reader!

Yay!!! Welcome Mike! (And big hello to your ladies as well!) If there are more of you out there checking in on me and the family and not posting notes, please, I invite you to speak up and speak out! I love to hear from our friends! Let me know what you’re up to, or what you think about what we’re up to!

This week has been asi-asi. You know, one of those weeks when during the day it feels like everything is chaotic and disfunctional but once the kids are asleep you realize that it went faster than you thought and and it maybe wasn’t as bad as you were fearing it was while it was happening. And now that the mid-week hump is past it seems like a steep downhill slope to the weekend. And I know that the rest of this week will go pretty quickly because I have a lot of cleaning to do–which is not by itself motivating or exciting but, my parents are coming tomorrow night so that they can go to the kids’ soccer games on Saturday morning and Jacob has soccer practice tonight and Josh still has to work of course so ‚ I can’t just rest on thinking everyone will clean hard core tonight or tomorrow. In other newsy bits, Elise is having her first kindergarten field trip today. All the kindergarten classes are going to an apple orchard in the Des Moines area and having picnic lunches. She’s pretty excited and she even let me put some of her hair back in a ponytail (this is a bigger deal than any of you probably realize, and if she comes home with it still up it will be HUGE!). More big news in the Thrap home today so far: Jacob took a shower! Elena is still asleep! And Cameron is rewatching Blue’s Clues which is nothing new but, this time, he has brought down his stuffed animal of Blue and they are watching and singing together. Teehee. Alright. Enough for now. Catch y’all later!
