Together Again

Gma&GpaClarkMy Grandpa and Grandma are together again.  After eight years of waiting for him, my Grandpa has joined my Grandma in Heaven.  I suppose it is a very happy day for him.  This June we would have celebrated his (I believe) 95th birthday!  So obviously he lived a good long life and we’re not completely surprised by his death, although, you never really know when it’s going to happen, you know?  He managed (with a lot of support from his children–esp. my uncle who lived nearby) to live alone at his own home.

It’s sad, but I’m sure he’s happier now. I’m glad he’s finally where he wanted to be– with Grandma. I’ll probably be seeing you soon. I’m going to try and make it out for the funeral.

I’m sorry to hear about your Grandpa Becca. I am sure he is happier now too, but that still makes it hard.

i like to believe that he is happier and at peace. my hope now is that the clark family will be able to resolve issues of the near past and be the loving family i’ve always known it to be. thanks for posting such a nice picture as well. that is how i remember them both… grandma always so smiling and grandpa so… stoic on the verge of a smile… but knowing that they both loved me.

    Thanks, all of you.

Thanks for saying Mom and Dad are “together again,” Becca, and thanks for posting that nice photo. Yes, it’s just the right note. Dad wanted to be with Mom…and who can say he isn’t?! I don’t know about Heaven and Better Places, but Dad was always first to say that whatever of life continues, it’s not using the dead body anymore. He preached many funeral sermons and comforted many people in their times of loss. He’d surely want us sharing happiness and peace! I feel very proud of both daughters today. I know you delighted my parents, and we (your parents) love you very much. See you soon.

Becca and Sarah, this is very nice! I’m at Heidi’s now, in Mesa AZ, and fly to Des Moines tomorrow, to arrive at 4 something p.m. By now I’ve spoken with Judy, Ben and Dan. My family all want to come. Saturday would be best for our family as far as family gathering, funeral or whatever. Dan indicated that Sunday might be better for others. I’ll let Brad, Heidi, and Adam know whenever there’s an indication of when they could fly.

Becca, your dad told me your generous offer of coming the airport or other service and he gave me your (and Sarah’s) phone numbers. I do have a car reserved at the airport and had planned to sleep at Sam’s and Amy’s home tomorrow night. My plans can change depending on what else I hear/what develops.

My cell phone is 928-241-0703. Feel free to call. I’ll be seeing you soon, somewhere–love, Hannah

    Becca,
Please accept my deepest sympathy in the death of your grandpa. I know that he was truly the patriarch of the Clark family and will be missed. Like everyone else, I believe that he is now reunited with your Grandma, and that must make him very happy.
It is always very hard to lose someone that you love, may God comfort you and the whole family.

    Becca,

Unlike the previous messages I offer not my sympathy but my contentment in knowing that your grandfather is where he wants to be and your grandmother is with him where ever that might be.

If we believe in a higher power, and I certainly am not going to argue with HERSELF, we must share in the happiness that he has achieved the ultimate.

I will however, remember you and your family in my prayers and thoughts.

Dear All, we of the extended family wish to extend our condolences to you for your loss. It’s obvious you all are very fond of Grandpa Franklin, whom I had the privalege to correspond with in years past. His Father was brother to my maternal Grandfather Walter L. Clark, of Medford, OR. My Mother, Mary Elizabeth Clark-Conner, still lives in Medford, having lost our Father four years ago. I have printed your photo of your Grandparents to share with her. She was a baby when that family left Iowa, so she has no memory of your Grandpa, but her sisters (my aunts) Alice and Ruth did. I connected with your Grandparents through Aunt Alice.
A loving family is the best legacy. You and yours surely bask in that gift. Lovingly, Jo Hine
