$52 Socks!

Ok, so it’s not one pair of socks for $52, but still! This last weekend Josh and I went to Kohl’s. We had a gift certificate worth $20 that we’d been given for shopping on the day after Thanksgiving but it had to be used last week. Josh had given it to me and said I could get whatever I wanted, but when I went out on Wednesday I searched the whole store and didn’t find anything I felt I just had to have. Sure, there were several things I could’ve just gotten, I mean, it was free money, but you know, to me that is all the more reason to try to make the most of it. So I didn’t get anything and I gave the gift certificate back to Josh and told him he could get something with it. Anyway, by the weekend neither of us had gotten anything and the gift certificate was about to expire so Josh took me out to pick out some new socks (because a lot of mine have holes in the heels after YEARS of wear). He did not make it a condition of buying the new socks, but he hoped that of my own accord I would then throw out the holey socks. There were some favorites that I’ve been wearing since high school, but I did decide that they had probably past their prime and should be put to rest. Back at Kohl’s I couldn’t believe what people are apparently paying for socks these days! There were some that were priced at $12/pair! Unbelievable! Luckily, most of the socks were included in holiday sales and were marked 50-60% off so I was able to get a lot for our $20 and feel like I’d used the free money well. I got these NINE pairs of socks. 1201071156.jpg Their original retail prices would have added up to $52 plus tax! We had to pay $.87 in tax TOTAL.
