We Won!!!

Well, I didn’t know there was a contest, and I don’t know if there was really any kind of a vote or if someone just arbitrarily picked us, but Josh and I won “Best-Dressed Couple” at the 80’s party tonight.
100_3687.JPG Our “prize” is a copy of Uncle Buck on dvd.
Thanks to the Thraps for sending us this picture of Josh from Kindergarten. JoshKindergarten.jpg Of course several people commented that it looked like we just used a picture of one of our kids! “The genes are strong with this one.”

Love the picture! You both look “totally awesome”! -especially you Becca! :)

The shoes were cut off!! What did you both have on? It looks like maybe they were fold-pegged and tucked into the shoes?

Did you know I still have your BK Knight shoes? I’ve used them for 80’s days at school. Along with your loose-fit, mid-thigh, light purple sweatshirt.

Yes, the bottom of the picture got cut off, and I didn’t get a very clear picture of the kids either. I thought about my BK hightops, but I know they don’t fit me anymore anyway, I’m glad you can get some nostalgic use out of them. In the picture, Josh is wearing a Han Solo T-shirt under my Gap jean jacket covered in buttons (my buttons from the 80’s, one even says “Becca” ;) I told him if anyone teased him about it just to say that we were going steady! LOL) He did his own hair and on the bottoms he’s wearing tan parachute pants tucked into his hightop work boots with the tongues pulled forward. I have my hair pulled to a side ponytail with a big bow barette, teal eyeshadow, purple mascara, frosty pink lipstick, big holographic earrings, a white tank top under a large pink off the shoulder shirt, a swatch watch, purple glitter rubber bangle bracelets, opaque black tights (in lieu of spandex bike-pants) under bleached ripped jeans that were pegged at the bottom, big sqishy thick pink socks, and my converse tennis shoes with friendship pins on the laces. In all honesty, I probably did a lot of 80’s cliches that would not have actually been worn together at the same time during the 80’s, but for nostalgia it worked. (Of course *I* never looked like that in the 80’s.)

You guys totally deserved to win. Best retro-80’s outfits I’ve seen in a long time.

Wow…seriously you both look like you are adult neighbors of Punky Brewster! Congratulations!!!
