Ok, So I know this may not “speak” to all of you, but I also know that at least a few people who may be reading this are or have been doctors and nurses, and those of you who are not and have not been, may have experienced this in the past and can still lend helpful advice. My question to you is this: is there any effective way to stop back-of-the-throat drainage?
I am not at all congested or runny-nosed and have little luck trying to blow anything into a Kleenex, but since last night I have felt back-of-the-throat drainage and this morning was able to hack some up, but what I’d really like to know is how to stop the drainage. I don’t know much about medicine and disease, but I do know that I am fairly succeptible to Strep Throat and I’d like to avoid any throat problems if at all possible. I am feeling the beginnings of throat discomfort, a feeling of thickness and irritation aggrevated by swallowing. As far as I can tell I have no other symptoms of illness. Just drainage. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide.
I had something like this a few months back and my homeopathic friend suggested snorting salt water. I thought it would hurt but it really didn’t and it really did work. You can definitly taste the salt but I think I did it 2 times in one day and I was feeling better that night. If you have a medicine dropper or syringe of some kind it works best.
That does sound pretty gross…but I guess if I get desperate I will try it. Thanks!
Unfortunately I get all of my medical expertise from ER and sadly, they rarely have this kind of issue (or maybe that’s a good thing as that might mean that you need emergency treatment)… in either case, I haven’t got a clue… if your skin grows a rash, or your poo becomes colorless, or you spike a fever THEN I will be able to point you in the right direction!
