Something to Report

I had tried to start a post this morning and I’d titled it “Nothing to Report” because I didn’t really have any news or great new insight or anything to share–in fact, I had so little to share that I just stopped posting it altogether because it just felt too lame. But now, I suppose that I should report on a few things that happened today. Well, one thing really. You don’t really need to know about my first official session with the physical trainer at the Y, or that I had to get Jacob new tap shoes today because he’s outgrown his third pair already (and if anybody happens to see him wearing them and makes a comment about them being girl’s shoes that person will be virtually flogged!), or any of the random drama in my life that starts when I wake the kids (and Jacob refuses to get ready for school because he’s having growing pains and proceeds to drag himself around the house on his elbows!) and continues throughout the day as Elena finds new (and very old) ways to keep me busy and on into the evening as the kids take turns having mini-meltdowns over dance, dses, daddy, etc. No, the only real “news” from today is that as we arrived home from dance this evening and I was JUST about to put all the kids to bed, Cameron fell and cracked his head on my open van door and started screaming and clutching his head as blood came gushing down his neck and back. Oh, and had I already mentioned that Josh is out of town–nay, out of state! Oh yes. God Bless Mike and RoseAnn! I drove over to their place and Mike kept all the other kids and put them to bed, while Rose rode with me to take Cameron into the Emergency Room in Des Moines. (The same place we took Jacob when he had his finger accident, and where I ended up before my gall bladder surgery.) Cameron calmed down and was a real trooper the whole time! He ended up with two new staples in the back of his head–I’m pretty sure they’re really close to where his first two (or was it three?) staples were. So anyway, now we’re back at home and all the little angels are sleeping peacefully in their beds and I am going to go join them! G’nite all!

Glad to hear that everything worked out. Injured and/or sick kids is never a fun time for anyone! Unfortunately there will most likely more ER visits, hopefully they will be few and far between for all of us! :) We love ya guys!

You are blessed to have such wonderful friends close by to help in a crisis. Give them a BIG thank-you from me, because I feel better knowing you have friends close by that you can rely on when emergencies come up and Josh is gone.

Glad to hear staples was all it took, and there were no permanent injuries. Cameron is a trooper and such a sweetheart! Give him a special hug this morning from Grandma Jean. Get Jacob into acting!
