Come One, Come All!

We are officially in our CRAZY busy time of year again! It seems that every year gets not only busier, but harder for me to stay on top of everything. I guess that’s part of getting older. Anyway, I have tried to remember to mention this to people, but just in case I missed you or you needed more information, let me invite you to come and see all four of our children performing in their dance recitals at CY Stevens Auditorium in Ames, Ia on Sunday, May 3rd (THIS COMING SUNDAY!). There are three separate and different shows, and I have children performing in each of them. (It will be a long weekend for us!) But admission is free and there is no limit to how many we can invite, so if you want to come and support our kids in their dancing you are more than welcome! I’ll be very busy, but we’d all love for you to come! The first show is at noon (doors will open at 11am) and there is no assigned or saved seating. The auditorium will be cleared out between each show so if you want to see each one we will need to go out and come back in and possibly to different seats each time. The second show is at 3:30pm and the third starts at 7:00pm. Elise and Jacob perform in Show 1, Elena and Cameron perform in Show 2, and Jacob and Cameron perform in Show 3.

He is Risen!

He is Risen Indeed! I remember saying that in church on Easter Sunday mornings. Happy Easter one and all. I guess it has been a long time since my last post. I have a lot less time at the computer now that I am trying to get to the Y to exercise everyday. But since it is a holiday and Josh and the kids are at church and I am home alone to celebrate my faith (or lack of organized religion), I have an opportunity to update the blog with photos etc. We have had a busy Spring thus far and we are excited to finally be having some nice weather. Over Spring break we had to cancel all of our plans and basically quarantine ourselves because several of us caught a virus that we did not want to spread. That really bummed us out and in an effort to make it more fun for the kids, we got them each their own new bicycle!

However the weather up until now hasn’t really allowed for them to get much use out of their new toys.
Last weekend we were able to go back to Muscatine (for the first time since Christmas!) to celebrate Easter early with the Thrap and Zalesky families. 100_6118.JPGThrap Easter 2009 020.jpgThrap Easter 2009 023.jpg100_6105.JPG
Then earlier this week the children and I dyed Easter eggs. 100_6125.JPG100_6127.JPG100_6130.JPG
And my parents came to visit this weekend. We had a nice pizza supper Friday night with them and Sarah and Scott, then Saturday morning they watched the kids so Josh and I could go out for a nice quiet breakfast–just the two of us! When we returned, my folks took Josh to Home Depot to get supplies for starting his new backyard garden! I’ve been draggin my heels on the project, but everyone else is sooo excited!

Then Saturday evening our friends the Neiths came over for an Easter dinner and egg hunt. Josh had smoked a pork loin and I had filled over 100 plastic eggs! 100_6150.JPG100_6151.JPG
And this morning after hopping up on candy from their Easter baskets, the kiddos tried out Josh’s new chin up bar!
