He is Risen!

He is Risen Indeed! I remember saying that in church on Easter Sunday mornings. Happy Easter one and all. I guess it has been a long time since my last post. I have a lot less time at the computer now that I am trying to get to the Y to exercise everyday. But since it is a holiday and Josh and the kids are at church and I am home alone to celebrate my faith (or lack of organized religion), I have an opportunity to update the blog with photos etc. We have had a busy Spring thus far and we are excited to finally be having some nice weather. Over Spring break we had to cancel all of our plans and basically quarantine ourselves because several of us caught a virus that we did not want to spread. That really bummed us out and in an effort to make it more fun for the kids, we got them each their own new bicycle!

However the weather up until now hasn’t really allowed for them to get much use out of their new toys.
Last weekend we were able to go back to Muscatine (for the first time since Christmas!) to celebrate Easter early with the Thrap and Zalesky families. 100_6118.JPGThrap Easter 2009 020.jpgThrap Easter 2009 023.jpg100_6105.JPG
Then earlier this week the children and I dyed Easter eggs. 100_6125.JPG100_6127.JPG100_6130.JPG
And my parents came to visit this weekend. We had a nice pizza supper Friday night with them and Sarah and Scott, then Saturday morning they watched the kids so Josh and I could go out for a nice quiet breakfast–just the two of us! When we returned, my folks took Josh to Home Depot to get supplies for starting his new backyard garden! I’ve been draggin my heels on the project, but everyone else is sooo excited!

Then Saturday evening our friends the Neiths came over for an Easter dinner and egg hunt. Josh had smoked a pork loin and I had filled over 100 plastic eggs! 100_6150.JPG100_6151.JPG
And this morning after hopping up on candy from their Easter baskets, the kiddos tried out Josh’s new chin up bar!

He is risen indeed! We sure enjoyed our time together! Glad Josh got a little patch of dirt to nurture. It was fun seeing the kids and watching them play outdoors. They were so excited about the garden! Glad I could be the laundry fairy for a day.

Last night as we rolled into town at 10:30, we needed to stop for milk–and of course all the chocolates were on sale! So Sarah and Scott got Easter baskets with chocolate candies!! Dad had his chocolates all eaten within a half-hour–what a man!

We’re waiting for the meatballs and potatoes to bake. Did a little squiring between breakfast and dinner.

    Happy Easter to all!
